This week I am taking a different route for my reflection, I found a Christina Farr’s blogpost about something called NuVu Studio. The title in itself is confusing, how can someone learn without any courses, classrooms, or grades? Well this program is a real world, project based learning program. Christina Farr was talking about the students developed a prosthetic hand for children. The post did talk about how it is hard to get programs like this going, but that does not mean we cannot implement them into our classrooms. For example, instead of tests they submit portfolios. I think that allowing young students to explore something they may eventually experience in their future careers is a fantastic idea! This program is definitely something these students will never forget (like the order of the presidents).
